Head In The Rain

from by Krister Axel

I wrote these lyrics driving through Melvina, WI on the way to a gig in Eau Claire sometime in the mid 90's.

There's a town up north
with your name, baby
half nothing and half hills
on a plain.
It was a farmer's daughter
who ran away, baby
someone just like you
with her head in the rain
her head in the rain

All across the world
you're a sign, baby
I can see your blues
the joy and the pain
I want to lean back now
in your arms, baby
take time off the hook
and love you again
love you again

I started playing piano in White Plains, New York because our black upright piano fascinated me and my sisters hated their piano lessons. That was in the 80's and I have never stopped writing songs. I write love songs and political songs but mostly love songs.

I play a lot of acoustic guitar, some electric, and different kinds of piano plus accordions and harmoniums and other assorted weird shit.
