The Light

lyrics

Sometime in the morning
I was not myself
having stood, and lost
and fallen in debt
I know what you're doing
I know what you've done
but you won't have to change me
because I won't use too much

You're the light I want to shine for
you're the light
I want to shine for you
You're the light I want to shine
for now, and ever

when I was a liar
when I was a thief
when I wore the chains
of my own grief
somewhere in the distance
I could see myself
falling down the mountain
with nothing left

You're the light I want to shine for
you're the light
I want to shine for you
You're the light I want to shine
for now, and ever
when you leave take a part of me
when you leave
you take a part of me
You're the light I want to shine
for now, and ever

about

Krister Axel Ashland, Oregon

I started playing piano in White Plains, New York because our black upright piano fascinated me and my sisters hated their piano lessons. That was in the 80's and I have never stopped writing songs. I write love songs and political songs but mostly love songs.

I play a lot of acoustic guitar, some electric, and different kinds of piano plus accordions and harmoniums and other assorted weird shit.
